[52] SEARCH – Tehidy Woods 23/12/2014 20:00

In the second call out of a very long day for the team, we were called out to search for a high risk 71 year old missing female. Team members and a SARDA search dog were quickly deployed in to the woods and surrounding countryside. An HM Coastguard team from Portreath also assisted with the coastal areas however Rescue helicopter 193 had to turn back due to the bad weather. The search continued until 3am without a result.

[51] SEARCH – Glynn Valley, Liskeard 23/12/2014 06:20

An early morning search after a van was located balancing precariously over a fast flowing river having collided with a bridge. There was evidence that the occupants may be injured however they could not be located. The team conducted a full river bank search, including surrounding countryside and woodland with a negative result.

We were stood down while police continued their enquiries, which eventually located the male.

[47] SEARCH – St Dennis, 12/12/2014 13:40

Call out to search for a 62 year old high risk missing person in the St Dennis area. As the team were en route, the police received new information and relocated the RV point to Newquay. After two hours of searching, the team were stood down by the police who had located the missing person through local enquiries. We were then redeployed to another callout in the Hayle area.

[45] SEARCH – Padstow, 24/11/2014 00:30

The police requested the assistance of the team to assist with the search of a young child who had been seen by a member of the public. Police conducted enquiries to establish if anyone was missing, whilst a police helicopter, dog units and CSRT were tasked to conduct searches of the surrounding area. Seventeen team members and one SARDA dog were stood down en route after the child was found to have returned home safe and well.

Call out to assist police with the search of a despondent 75 year old female. As the team were gathering at the RV point, the missing person was recovered from the shoreline and airlifted to Treliske Hospital by Rescue 193 from RNAS Culdrose in a serious condition.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the female.
