Members of the east section were diverted from training at Golitha Falls to an urgent report from Devon and Cornwall Police of an unresponsive male runner on the moor somewhere between Golddiggings and Cheesewring, having been located by a member of the public.
Eight team members and Mobile 2 were dispatched with full medical kit, locating him and the reporting person on the western side of Stowe’s Hill. The team also accompanied the police and SWAST paramedic.
Sadly, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene, and members then stretchered him to our team vehicle before travelling back to Minions where we met with the ambulance.
Our thoughts go to the gentleman’s friends and family at this sad time.
