One of our team members – Paul Miller – has just completed a gruelling 300 mile walk around the entire Cornish Coast to raise funds for the team. The entire team would like to congratulate Paul on his efforts and thank him. You can read all about it here.
Speaking of walks, team member Nige Hutching and his wife, Sue, have once again been selling clues for their famous letter box walks on Dartmoor.
Twice a year, they put out new walks and donate the proceeds to CSRT. On the same day Paul completed his walk, we were presented with £400 from the initial sales of their next walk. Thanks Nige & Sue.
We are also extremely grateful to team member Kelvin Barberry who, together with friend and team mate Paul Oliver, headed to Birmingham last weekend where his company, Interserve Education, were holding their annual dinner and dance.
They had nominated Cornwall Search and Rescue Team as their chosen charity to receive the monies raised on the evening and we were delighted to hear that over £900 was raised. We will be holding a local ceremony where the cheque will be officially presented and we can express our sincere gratitude to all the staff from
Interserve for this magnificent gift.
April will be a busy month for us. As well as regular training and any callouts, we have our AGM on 15th. The team will gather at Tomperrow Scout Hut to hear about the progress made in the last 12 months and what the next 12 months might have in store.
There is also another of the popular Radio Cornwall walks – this time to Twelve Mens Moor on Bodmin Moor on Monday 16th April and we hope to have a small team in attendance once again.
