14 team members provided rescue cover for the St Michaels Way Walk, an annual event organised by our friends from Mounts Bay Rotary Club. The sun shone throughout but with a cool breeze, conditions were ideal and a good time was had by all. We stationed teams at key points; Knills Monument, Trencrom Hill and a ford crossing towards the end of the 12 mile course but they had nothing to do other than observe as the walkers passed by. Just the way we like it!
There was a brief flurry of activity when Controllers were paged by Devon & Cornwall Police for a possible search in St Austell but that was quickly resolved before deployment.
And if the Team Leader was loking a little tired, he could be forgiven having travelled all the way to Wales and back for the Mountain Rescue (England & Wales) AGM and Business Meeting the previous day. It's always good to meet up with colleagues from other teams and keep up with the latest developments in MR.
