[1] RESCUE COVER – Brown Willy run, New Year’s Day

Once again the team provided the safety cover for the mud-fest that is the New Year’s Day run from Jamaica Inn to Brown Willy, Cornwall’s highest point. A record 504 runners took part this year and, despite raining for most of the morning, by the time the runners set off only good Cornish mizzle remained.

The race itself was pretty much incident-free though, with just one nasty puncture wound from a fall on barbed wire and a couple of runners needing to be followed off the moor as they were getting rather cold. In fact, the team were mostly called into action to help retrieve vehicles off the overflow parking field!
