1st January 2010 at 09:30 hrs

The team provided stand by rescue cover for the annual Brown Willy Run from Jamaica Inn to the highest part of Bodmin Moor. There were a large numbers of runners this year with clear and cold weather conditions.

The race passed without any incidents and our attendance is shown here for information only.


3rd January 2010 at 10:00 hrs

Team SARDA dog handler was called to assist Dartmoor SRT Ashburton along with along with other dog teams from across the region to search for a vulnerable missing male. Nothing was found and police enquiries are continuing.

9th January 2010 at 13:45 hrs

The team were called out to search the moor for a missing local man. With sub zero conditions and snow still covering the moor, assistance was also requested for extra SARDA search dogs to attend. Despite intensive searches, nothing was found.

Police enquiries later located the male.


12th January 2010 at 10.30 hrs

The team was tasked to help a 55 yr old woman unable to get out of her remote dwelling due to snow and ice and running low on food and fuel. Using the grit carried on board, we were able to de-ice her drive so she could get her car out.
