[1] – Brown Willy Area, Rescue

1st January 2008 at 1130hrs

Fell runner on organised event unable to continue due to severe stomach cramps. Walked to land rover and taken off.

[2] – Kynance Cove, Lizard Downs, Search

2nd January 2008 at 0730hrs

Request for team to attend and search Lizard Downs after abandoned car and concern for occupant. HMCG covering coastal fringes. Found during early part of search by police.

[3] – Penrose Valley, nr Helston, Stand By

3rd January 2008 at 1715hrs

Alert to the team and request for advice in relation to a concern for a male. He was unclear about his location and it was decided to monitor the situation until 2200hrs.

[4] – Truro, Stand By

4th January 2008 at 2330hrs

The police contacted the team in relation to a missing lady with dementia. A request was made for a search at first light once police enquiries had been exhausted, which ended up locating the female.

[5] – Perranarworthal, Search

16th January 2008 at 1000hrs

Suicidal female left her home address. Her car was found near to woodland which the Team was then called out to search. Found and evacuated by rescue helicopter.

18th January 2008 at 1400hrs

Missing female with learning difficulties had run off from school group into forest. Team requested to assist with a search of that area. Stood down en route.

[7] – Rough Tor, Bodmin Moor, Search

19th January 2008 at 1600hrs

Father and daughter became lost in think mist on the moor. Located and escorted off moor with assistance from police dog handler.

21st January 2008 at 1930hrs

Call to search for a male who had ran off into woodland from an ambulance crew after taking an overdose. Search required. Arrived back at his home address as we were turning up.

Large search for despondent long range walker. HMCG and Rescue 193 also in attendance but nothing found.

Missing female, and team requested to search of surrounding farmland. Kept on stand by until initial enquiries completed which ended up locating female.

Abandoned vehicle near to a mine and quarry. Remote location and police had serious concern for the occupant. Search carried out of mine and quarry and surrounding woodland.

Two people in Robinsons Shaft area of South Crofty and only one had left, prompting fears that the other one may have got into difficulty on/in the mine. Male turned up as we were arriving.

Team vehicle was returning to base when flagged down by member of public to thrown rider from a horse in remote area. Casualty Care given until arrival of paramedics.

Search for a despondent male who had not taken his diabetes medication and believed to be in the area. Thorough search conducted including following up of possible sightings. Stood down - nothing found.

Whilst training on the moor, a large lorry collided with the Iron Bridge on the old A30. Team members attended to check on the welfare of the driver and alerted Railtrack until police arrived.

Confused elderly male left hospital and police requested assistance to search surrounding area. Located by police dog handler in dense undergrowth and stretcher evacuation by team members to team vehicle which conveyed him back to hospital.

Search for female missing from campsite. With heavy sleet and hail showers, the team was delayed slightly due to coming across two road traffic collisions on the way! Female located safe and well through police enquiries.
