[1] – Brown Willy Area, Rescue

1^st January 2008 at 1130hrs

Fell runner on organised event unable to continue due to severe stomach cramps. Walked to land rover and taken off.

[2] – Kynance Cove, Lizard Downs, Search

2^nd January 2008 at 0730hrs

Request for team to attend and search Lizard Downs after abandoned car and concern for occupant. HMCG covering coastal fringes. Found during early part of search by police.

[3] – Penrose Valley, nr Helston, Stand By

3^rd January 2008 at 1715hrs

Alert to the team and request for advice in relation to a concern for a male. He was unclear about his location and it was decided to monitor the situation until 2200hrs.

[4] – Truro, Stand By

4^th January 2008 at 2330hrs

The police contacted the team in relation to a missing lady with dementia. A request was made for a search at first light once police enquiries had been exhausted, which ended up locating the female.

[5] – Perranarworthal, Search

16^th January 2008 at 1000hrs

Suicidal female left her home address. Her car was found near to woodland which the Team was then called out to search. Found and evacuated by rescue helicopter.

[6] – Holsworthy, Search

18^th January 2008 at 1400hrs

Missing female with learning difficulties had run off from school group into forest. Team requested to assist with a search of that area. Stood down en route.

[7] – Rough Tor, Bodmin Moor, Search

19^th January 2008 at 1600hrs

Father and daughter became lost in think mist on the moor. Located and escorted off moor with assistance from police dog handler.

[8] Penryn, Search

21^st January 2008 at 1930hrs

Call to search for a male who had ran off into woodland from an ambulance crew after taking an overdose. Search required. Arrived back at his home address as we were turning up.

[9] Trevalga, Nr Boscastle, Search

3^rd February 2008 at 1430hrs

Large search for despondent long range walker. HMCG and Rescue 193 also in attendance but nothing found.

[10] – Porkellis, Nr Helston, Stand By

5^th February 2008 at 1000hrs

Missing female, and team requested to search of surrounding farmland. Kept on stand by until initial enquiries completed which ended up locating female.

[11] – Lowertown, Nr Helston, Search

6^th February 2008 at 1130hrs

Abandoned vehicle near to a mine and quarry. Remote location and police had serious concern for the occupant. Search carried out of mine and quarry and surrounding woodland.

[12] – St Austell, Stand By

7^th February 2008 at 1400hrs

Team placed on stand by for searches for a missing vulnerable man. Located deceased prior to deployment.

[13] – Ponsanooth, Search

16^th February 2008 at 2330hrs

Missing elderly lady with dementia. Found safe and well.

[14] – St Ives, Search

26^th February 2008 at 1145hrs

Missing male not local to area. Extensive search conducted of cliff and woodland areas, assisted by HMCG. Nothing found..

27^th February 2008 at 1100hrs

Second day of search. Male located by HMCG deceased at bottom of cliff.

Request from police to investigate reports of persons stuck on the cliff at Hawkes Point as HMCG unable to attend. Location attended and resolved without full team call out.

[16] – Tregarrick Tor, Bodmin Moor, Rescue

23^rd March 2008 at 1200hrs

Fell runner fell over causing an ankle injury. Evacuated off moor. Team already in area providing rescue cover.

[17] – Lamorna, Search

30^th March 2008 at 1045hrs

Another coastal and woodland search for missing person. Found at bottom of cliffs deceased.

[18] – St Keverne, Search

3^rd April 2008 at 2345hrs

Overdue walker in poor weather conditions. Search launched but person returned back to accommodation of own accord.

[19] – Porthleven, Search

13^th April 2008 at 2000hrs

Another male overdue from walk. Team attended but male located by police unit on road and returned home.

Car found abandoned at remote location and police had serious concerns for occupant. Major search launched, nothing found.

Second day of searching for this high risk missing female. Still nothing found.

Concern for welfare of female in a tent near Perranporth however exact location unknown. Found by team during hasty search.

Missing elderly lady near Drummers Hill. Located safe and well.

Deployed to act as navigators for SARDA dog handlers during incidents and searches on Dartmoor.

Numerous incidents dealt with by team members who were in attendance during the annual Bodmin Moor Ten Tors Event.

Another stand by rescue cover. General assistance was provided, minor first aid treatment given, and a search for an overdue walker at the end.

[26] – South Crofty Mine - Search

21^st May 2008 at 1930 hrs

Two people in Robinsons Shaft area of South Crofty and only one had left, prompting fears that the other one may have got into difficulty on/in the mine. Male turned up as we were arriving.

[27] – Colan, Nr Newquay - Local Incident

24^th May 2008 at 1300 hrs

Team vehicle was returning to base when flagged down by member of public to thrown rider from a horse in remote area. Casualty Care given until arrival of paramedics.

Search for a despondent male who had not taken his diabetes medication and believed to be in the area. Thorough search conducted including following up of possible sightings. Stood down - nothing found.

Search conducted for missing vulnerable lady. Lady located by CSRT and SARDA members. Treatment given and evacuated to roadhead.

Elderly male in early signs of dementia missing from home. Major search started with nothing found.

Report of a missing male described as vulnerable and despondent. Police requested to conduct further enquiries and checks first prior to call out.

Call from police to search for missing vulnerable female. With atrocious weather conditions, HM Coastguard were also called to assist in searching the coastal areas and luckily located the female.

[34] - Goss Moor, Road Traffic Collision

17^th July 2008 at 1930 hrs

Whilst training on the moor, a large lorry collided with the Iron Bridge on the old A30. Team members attended to check on the welfare of the driver and alerted Railtrack until police arrived.

Stand by call from police for missing person in the Wadebridge area. Stood down once located by police.

Stood by during a rescue of a dog by Cornwall County Fire Brigade for dog down 30 foot dry mineshaft.

Team called from training exercise to attend a search on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor to search for an elderly female who had gone missing. Located safe and well.

Search for missing female believed to be in the Gover Valley area. Located safe and well.

[40] – Falmouth, Search

18^th August 2008 at 2030 hrs

Team called to search for missing elderly male. Located and returned by team members.

Search for a female missing from nursing home. Teams deployed over extensive search areas including moorland and open countryside. Located and evacuated by team.

[42] – Kit Hill, Callington, Search

30^th August at 1300 hrs

Call out for missing despondent female. DSRT Tavistock and SARDA also called to assist with search. Located safe and well.

[43] - Treliske Hospital, Truro Search

5^th September 2008 at 2140 hrs

Confused elderly male left hospital and police requested assistance to search surrounding area. Located by police dog handler in dense undergrowth and stretcher evacuation by team members to team vehicle which conveyed him back to hospital.

Similar to the previous night, this time a female went missing from the hospital. Located by police prior to full deployment of teams on the ground.

Called to search for a male who had left his residential home. Located by passing police unit.

Rescue Cover for charity walk in the Perranuthnoe. Team members dealt with four incidents which included two medical problems, one evacuation and a search for two children.

Search for missing 12 year old male, believed to be on the moor. Located safe and well.

Search for male missing from hospital. Assisted by SARDA handlers from DSRT Tavistock. Whilst teams were searching, male was picked up by ambulance crew and taken to Treliske Hospital, however he then absconded again from there, so teams were redeployed. Located by police and stood down en route.

Search for female missing from campsite. With heavy sleet and hail showers, the team was delayed slightly due to coming across two road traffic collisions on the way! Female located safe and well through police enquiries.

Called to Bodmin Hospital to search the area for a missing despondent male. Located by police.

Team trainee SARDA handler called from exercise to navigate for SARDA handler from DSRT Tavistock. Missing person found by that search dog and evacuated by DSRT members.

Team called to assist police and HM Coastguard in search for missing walker. Located by police and evacuated by Rescue 193 helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.

Search for missing autistic male, with indications that he may be heading towards caves in the area. Located by police safe and well.

Search for male missing on the northern parts of the moor. Located and rewarmed by team members. Assisted by a SARDA dog team from DSRT Tavistock.

Search for female with dementia. Located safe and well.

Call out for a missing despondent male and his dog. Stood down with nothing found.

Stand by and then a full team call out with DSRT Tavistock to continue the previous days search after new information and search areas identified. Male returned home.

[59] – Tolskithy Valley, Redruth, Search

17^th December 2008 at 2100 hrs

Partial team call out for a river bank search in the Tolskithy Valley for a missing male. Rest of the team on stand by but later stood down once missing person located through police enquiries.

[60] – Cheesewring, Bodmin Moor, Search

18^th December 2008 at 1900 hrs

Call out to search the Cheesewring and surrounding moorland for a missing male. Located safe and well.

[61] – Perranporth, Search

Search for a high risk elderly missing male from Perranporth. Male picked up by ambulance crew during search.
